A Broadband Production…
Staring a cast of nine southwest Indiana counties and a talented group who shared a dream of providing high speed connectivity to everyone.
Growing the Region's Access to Broadband and Information Technology (GRABIT) is a planning project funded by Department of Labor WIRED funding. The planning exercise has provided a considerable amount of information, data and future plans concerning broadband connectivity in Southwest Indiana.
The planning project has run its course and we are conducting close out activities for the grant. However, as one project comes to a close, we are anticipating many new broadband enhancement projects to begin.

It has been time well spent sharing as Chair of the WIRED Broadband Committee. I think our GRABIT planning project has added significantly to the body of knowledge concerning broadband deployment and will serve as an effective jumping off point for future broadband initiatives.

New Coffee Shop Is Signal of Ferdinand's Continuing Entrepreneurship Efforts
Boundless Grounds is owned and operated by Ann Wahl of Ferdinand, IN. Ann has a tremendous amount of experience in the food service sector. She has leveraged this experience by starting her own business in the Ferdinand Antique Emporium. Boundless Grounds offers a variety of coffee drinks and complementary selection of baked goods and sandwiches.
The Enterprise Loan Funds were used for working capital to help with purchasing necessary supplies and equipment. The DCADC Enterprise Loan Fund Board noted that Boundless Grounds is a great example of a start up taking advantage of growing tourism traffic associated with the continuing expansion of Holiday World and Ferdinand's location along I-64.
We certainly wish Boundless Grounds all the best with their new business.
As noted, this new businesses is located in the Ferdinand Antique Emporium, which is a great example of entrepreneurship in a number of ways. Consider that this former wood working facility is now home to a number of new business ventures ranging from a custom framing company to a dance studio not to mention all the interesting antique vendor spaces. This is clearly a wonderful example of imagination and entrepreneurship.
Be sure to visit when you are in the area.
